With reports suggesting the potential release of Resident Evil 9, we could see Leon S. Kennedy back in action. It is still being determined whether he will be a part of the opening phase or playable throughout the game.

While Capcom has not commented on the game's potential release, plenty of leaks shed light on what this video game might feature. Multiple leakers suggest that the 9th installation of the game will feature Lean Kennedy as the main character, who will be 48 years old at the point of the story.

Resident Evil 9: A Brief Overview

Resident Evil 9 could be set in an open world on an Island in South East Asia, reportedly inspired by Singapore. The tweet by Dusk Golem also mentions that Leon may have to explore a variety of islands within the game, adding to its open-world theme.

It is still too early to say if other characters, such as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, will accompany him onboard or if Leon will be solo throughout the game.

Capcom has not announced Resident Evil 9 yet, but since its last game was a remake, we can expect a mainline entry next.

Resident Evil 9 vs Resident Evil Remake: Which will be Released First?

Resident Evil rumours are all over the place. Some reports suggest that Resident Evil 1 Remake will be released before the 9th mainline installation. When the developers released the remake of Resident Evil 2, numerous veteran fans welcomed it.

It has been over 22 years since the remake of the original Resident Evil, which first came out on GameCube in 2002. If the rumours are true, we could see a remake of Resident Evil before we see Resident Evil 9.

The latest Resident Evil remake was Resident Evil 4, which came out in 2023 and garnered terrific reviews. Nonetheless, it is always good news whenever a Resident Evil project is on the horizon. Whether it is a remake of the classic Resident Evil 1 or a new installation, we are excited for their next release.
