  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Windows & Mac

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: An Overview

Assassin’s Creed Shadows looks set to become the next mainline instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. It is the fourteenth game in the popular Ubisoft franchise.

Ubisoft Quebec, which worked on Syndicate and Odyssey, is leading the development of this game. The other 15 Ubisoft studios also support the process.

The game is set in 1579, in the 16th century, during Japan's Sengoku period. Gamers can choose from two playable characters: Yasuke, an African retainer, and Naoe Fujibayashi, a Japanese woman trained as an assassin and ninja.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Gameplay & Map Details

Assasin’s Creed Shadows follows traditional gameplay, focusing on stealth, action, and takedowns. However, this game might introduce some new features, including lighting-based stealth missions, upgraded graphics, and improved weather effects.

Assassin's Creed Shadows ditches the one-size-fits-all approach. Every weapon, from Yasuke's mighty katana to Naoe's deadly shuriken, has its dedicated skill tree. This allows you to tailor your combat style to your preferences.

According to early reports, the game will have an open-world map which will be roughly the same size as Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Valhalla. Assassin's Creed Shadows could feature this as a single, large region, or it might be divided into several smaller explorable areas.

This is just our guess, though! We will have to wait for more official information to know for sure.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Platforms

Assassin's Creed Shadows is levelling up! It's hitting all the new consoles: Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PCs. Mac gamers can join the fun too! This means next-level graphics, new moves, and fast loading times – all thanks to the latest tech.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Multiplayer

Assassin's Creed Shadows is designed as a single-player experience from the ground up. This means you will not be able to join forces with other players to tackle missions or explore the world together.

Although Assassin's Creed Shadows doesn't have multiplayer, Ubisoft is working on a separate Assassin's Creed multiplayer experience Codename Invictus. This upcoming title might offer the collaborative gameplay that you are looking for within the Assassin's Creed universe.

Mark your calendars! Assassin's Creed Shadows lands on November 15, 2024, for standard edition players. Want to play early? Stay tuned to ZGames for pre-orders!
