This brand-new fighting game looks like it’s going to be a total blast for anyone who loves the show’s crazy fights and superpowers.

I’ve been following this game since it was first shown off, and after checking out the open beta that just ended, I’m super excited to share what I think.

The Invincible TV show on Prime Video hooked millions of us with its mix of superhero drama, family stuff, and insane, bloody battles. Now, instead of just watching, we get to play as our favorite characters and throw punches ourselves.

Invincible VS isn’t some quick cash-in game. It’s a full 3v3 tag-team fighter made by Quarter Up studio (part of Skybound, the same team behind the comics). They brought in folks who worked on Killer Instinct, so the fighting feels tight and fun right from the start. 

If you’re tired of waiting for the next season of the show, this is your chance to jump into the world and smash stuff.

Simple answer: It’s a fast, brutal superhero fighting game set in the Invincible universe. You pick three characters for your team and battle in 3v3 tag matches. The cool part? You can switch fighters anytime with “active tags” to keep your combos going or team up for big attacks.

Want to escape trouble? Use the “counter tag” to flip the fight around. Every match feels like one of those wild scenes from the show – bones cracking, blood everywhere, and arenas getting totally wrecked by super moves. It’s violent, over-the-top, and exactly what Invincible fans want.

One thing I loved in the beta is how friendly the controls feel. You don’t need to be a pro fighting game player. Just use light, medium, and heavy attacks on the regular buttons. Special moves are as easy as pressing a direction plus one button – no crazy spins or hard timings.

The game even has an auto-combo button for beginners, but once you get better, you can chain switches, assists, and huge ultimate attacks into crazy sequences. It plays a bit like Marvel vs. Capcom or Dragon Ball FighterZ, but with that raw Invincible style.

On PS5, everything runs super smooth at 4K and 60fps. If you have the PS5 Pro, it looks even sharper with extra details. The DualSense controller makes every hit feel heavy and satisfying with great rumble feedback. Trust me, it’s a joy to play.

Launch day comes with 18 characters, which is pretty solid. You get all the big names from the show and comics:

The voices are done by the same actors from the animated series, so it feels just like the show. The beta only let us try 10 of them, but playing as Omni-Man and smashing everyone was pure joy. More characters like The Immortal and Universal are coming later as DLC.

This isn’t just a multiplayer fighter. There’s a full cinematic story mode with an original story written by one of the show’s writers. It actually adds new stuff to the Invincible world – super cool if you want more than just fights.
