EA FC 26: List of all New Features

This year, EA aims to deliver a significantly improved experience for gamers with FC 26. In this blog, we will be giving a detailed outlook on what’s new, what you could expect, and any improvements from its previous game.

EA Sports FC 26, set for release on September 26, 2025, introduces a range of new features across its core modes, designed to enhance gameplay, accessibility, and engagement based on community feedback.

  Gameplay Enhancements

EA has also added a new change to the new game, which now gives us two modes: Competitive & Authentic

Two Gameplay Presets:

  • Competitive: Optimized for head-to-head modes like Ultimate Team and Clubs, featuring faster passing, improved goalkeeper reactions, and responsive controls for precise, high-intensity play.
  • Authentic: Tailored for Career Mode, focusing on realistic football with disciplined defensive positioning, lifelike goalmouth situations, and accurate corner outcomes.
  • Core Mechanics Improvements: acceleration for high-pace players, and improved ball shielding
  • Enhanced player movement with smoother dribbling, explosive mechanics.

Goalkeepers benefit from better positioning, refined deflection handling, and consistent decision-making, supported by volumetric animations and machine learning. Upgraded AI with smarter positioning, tactical awareness, and player runs informed by real-world data.

New Gameplay Features:

  • Five new PlayStyles: Precision Header, Low Driven Power Shot, Enforcer, Aerial Fortress, and one unannounced PlayStyle, replacing certain existing ones.
  • New Player Role: Inverted Wingbacks, with additional roles to be confirmed.
  •  Reintroduced low-driven shots across all shot types (e.g., finesse, power shots), activated by double-tapping the shoot button, replacing timed finishing.
  • Simplified skill moves for newer players, executed by flicking the right stick to create space.

Accessibility Improvements

  • High-contrast mode allows customization of player, goalkeeper, referee, and ball colors to improve visibility, available in head-to-head modes.
  • Adjustable pitch saturation and shadow toggles to enhance visual clarity.
